Harrisburg Academy Students Help Out in Lemoyne
HarrisburgAcademyCleanUp2009.jpg
On Friday October 2nd 2009, about 15 students and a few faculty spent the morning weeding, planting and spreading mulch in the bottleneck area.  This was part of the Academy's annual school wide community service day.  The students removed 4 dump truck loads of brush and weeds, planted, and spread 5 dump truck loads of mulch.  Thank you to the Academy for spending time helping out in Lemoyne for the second year in a row on their Community Service Day!!!

Northside Pump Station Project
Northside Pump Station project is now under construction.  The initial phase of the project will involve the installation of a force main from the station site up through the Bridgeport / White Oaks right-of-way and then on to Cumberland Road, connecting to the existing gravity sewer.  Pipe has been laid from Cumberland Road through Bridgeport down to Walnut St.  The gravity sewer will be expanded and several laterals will be enhanced in connection with the project.

Skateboard Park Update
A West Shore Recreation Commission study recommended building multiuse facilities in several municipalities that would accommodate skateboard parks and allow concerts (http://www.wsrec.org).  Although some member municipalities are looking at the concept, Lemoyne Borough Council has authorized a citizens committee to work toward making the one proposed in Lemoyne.

We are coordinating a coalition of skateboarders, parents, businesses, churches, citizens in surrounding communities (New Cumberland, Lower Allen, Wormleysburg and Camp Hill) to meet to discuss how to raise approximately $115,000 for the attached proposal

If you would like to get involved, please contact Tom Beene at (717) 580-2850 or ab2w@aol.com.
